Our track and field practices have been underway for a few weeks now and we were finally able to compete against other athletes and schools yesterday in Aberdeen at the NSU Indoor Track and Field meet.
For our first time out we did very well as a team. We had one athlete Avery Miles of Doland win first place in the Mile and 800 individual races; Regan Lutter got 13th in the mile. TJ Salmen earned first place in the 55M hurdles breaking 9 secs; Josiah Wiebe got 8th, and Patrick Maynard got 11th; Cambree Hoekman got 7th, and Lila Johnson got 8th. Katelyn Schroeder got 3rd in the high jump 4’8”. Riley Fliehe got 3rd in the triple jump 11.33M and tied for 10th in the High Jump. Brendan Nowell and Patrick Maynard got 11th and 14th respectively in the triple jump. Landon Puffer got 8th in the long jump and Payton Chasing Hawk got 20th. Emmerie Arthurs got 9th and Cambree Hoekman got 18th in the long jump. Erik Salmen got 8th and Dalton Rathjen got 14th in the Shot Put. The girls and boys 4X400M(1600) relay teams got 8th (Ella J., Isabel G., Cambree H., Katelyn S.) and 5th respectively (Riley F., Landon P., TJ S., Payton C.) TJ Salmen and Payton Chasing Hawk got 5th and 6th in the 400M. Emmerie Arthurs got 15th in the 200M. Landon Puffer got 6th in the 55M and Emmerie Arthurs got 13th. Other athletes were very close to breaking into the top 20. Our athletes worked very hard. I am proud of all of them.
It was great to see everyone come out to compete and to see our fans come out as well. We look forward to our meet April 3rd at SDSU Indoor starting at 12PM. #GoPatriotNation
