HT Patriots Football First Two Weeks Completely Opposite
For me, as Coach of our HT Patriots Football team the first two weeks have been a whirl wind of stress and keeping my head above it all. I definitely did not get our team prepared to face the Faulkton Trojans and apologize to all for that, especially my players. We aren't making any excuses. We must play better, discipline football.
Our first week we faced a new head coach and struggling team and this week faced an experience coach and team out for vengeance on the Patriots. We won 50 to 0 against the Northwestern Wild Cats and lost 40 to 0 against the Faulkton Trojans. Against Northwestern almost everything worked and against Faulkton we never saw the endzone.
Our players are battling and working hard. We will continue to improve and work towards being back-to-back State Champions. Our defensive and offensive lines #88 Jackson Maynard, #62 Mikael Nielson, #56 Dalton Rathjen, #4 Patrick Maynard are our foundation. We need them to take on the trenches for us to be successful. Our senior leaders in the back field, #45 Erik Salmen and #3 Brendan Nowell will need to continue to guide our team to victory. Erik Salmen had over 300 total yards and two touchdowns in our first two games. Brendan Nowell has thrown for 300 yards in our first two games with five touchdowns total receiving and rushing. #8 Payton Chasing Hawk is making more and more of an impact. He has had almost 200 yards total offense with one touchdown in two games and has been kicking the ball very well.
We are looking to our other players to continue to make impacts on our team: #11 Mason Tschetter has scored one touchdown, #20 Cameron Noethlich is continuing to improve as a safety on defense, #23 Blaze Binger is tough and works hard, #65 Nick Tollefson is hoping to be back to full strength next week. #55 Preston Wipf is expected to be a great up and coming player for us as well, #64 Aiden Morehouse is working hard, #5 Derek Johnson is being called upon more and more because of his ability to play multiple positions on our team, #40 Isaac VanScharrel learning the game of football and is becoming more willing to be on the field, #1 Devin Enander is a great athlete and will be a great asset to us, #15 Max Gilbert is a hard worker, and #80 Evan Schultz is working on connecting more as a Patriot football player. We need each and every one of our players and helpers to keep us going in the right direction. Katelyn Schroeder (Water,) Cambree Hoekman(Water,) Sienna Stoner(Water,) Matthew Salmen(Towels,) Aiden Frankenstein (manager,) and Laina Puffer is doing a great job videoing our games. Gentry Puffer and Neil Salmen, our ball boys have done a great job.
Thank you parents/guardians for your continued support and the wonderful Thursday night meals and sack lunches. We have Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks this Friday at 2:30PM in Lake Preston. #GoPatriotsBack2BackRun
