The Lady Patriots picked up another win against the Faulkton Trojans on Tuesday night in Tulare. It was the first win over the Trojans since 2015.  

In the first set, the Patriots found themselves down early, until a couple of late set runs helped them get the lead and continue to build it. The Trojans would make a late push, the Patriots put set one away by a score of 25-22.

In set two, the Patriots would jump out to a six point lead and keep building the lead throughout the set. Once again, the Trojans would get within five of the Patriots, before the ladies pulled out the win by a score of 25-21.

The Patriots got a slow start in set three by getting down as much as nine points early on. The ladies found a way to fight there way back into the set and coming close to pulling out the set three win, but the Trojans would end up winning set three 23-25.

The best set played for the Patriots was in set four, as the Patriots jumped out to a big lead and never looked back. The ladies won set four 25-11, and took the match 3-1.

It was a balance scoring attack for the Patriots with Katelyn Schroeder recording 15 kills on the night. Ella Johnson chipped in 9 kills and Rebecca Huizenga finished with 7 kills. Lila Johnson dished out 30 assists on the night. 

The Patriots served the ball very well, only missing five serves on the night. Lila Johnson led the team with two aces and Isabel Gilbert added one ace. 

Defensively, Cambree Hoekman came up huge with 22 digs. Schroeder followed with 18 digs. Isabel Gilbert would also record one solo and three block assists for the Patriots.  Ella Johnson and Schroeder also recorded two block assists.

The Patriots (5-2) will be back in action Thursday night as they travel down to Wolsey to take on the Warbirds in a 281 conference match up.  Matches begin at 4:00 with the Jr. High games, followed by JV and Varsity.
