Patriots football 1st round playoff win. We want to thank our fans and all the support we have been given this year. It is a community effort. We thank our parents for weekly team meals and sack lunches, Wilbur-Ellis for painting our field our last three home games, Mr. Jason Wenzel for the tech and T.V. support, Mr. Michael Wollman for announcing home games and all of the push-ups, Mr. Ty Hofer for play by play online, Mr. Jeff Clark and Mrs. Michelle Clark for setting things up and feeding teams after our home games, and all of you who watch us in person and online; it is all very much appreciated. I thank my players for their continued effort and positive attitudes.
We played a solid game. I know the first quarter brought our supporters to question what kind of team we are, but there was no doubt from my perspective that we had the potential to pull out this win against Lemmon-McIntosh. Our defense stepped up big with four interceptions; #3 Brendan Nowell had two of them and batted two balls. Jackson Maynard our defensive tackle had a great game being involved in 13 tackles. Our offense found its footing with #45 Erik Salmen rushing for 219 yards and 5 touchdowns. #45 Erik Salmen threw for 1 more with #4 Patrick Maynard making a catch and 10 yard run into the endzone. #1 Devin Enander just missed another touchdown catch in the endzone. Our stats are listed below.
We look forward to another battle with the Avon Pirates Thursday night in Avon at 7PM. We again thank you for your continued support on our way one game at a time to repeat as State Champions.
