The Hitchcock-Tulare FFA Chapter has been very busy recently. They held their annual FFA banquet and spent a lot of time setting it up and helping Mrs. Hoekman prepare the food. At the banquet, members had the opportunity to receive many awards and acknowledgements. There were many people in the community who attended, and we would like to thank everyone who attended.
The next weekend (April 18th – April 20th) the Hitchcock-Tulare FFA had many teams and individuals head to Brookings for FFA State Convention. It was a very busy weekend. The FFA had taken teams in Ag Business, Agronomy, Meats, Farm Safety Quiz Bowl, Nursery Landscape, range plant ID, and many other individuals. The seniors also earned their state degrees and were recognized by the State FFA President. The recipients of the state degree were Brendan Nowell, Harlee Nielson, Presley Binger, Weston Wagner, Jesse Woodward, and Kaleb Watson. Harlee Nielson also placed first in Ag Business. She received an iPad in addition to her placing. Brendan Nowell also placed 23rd. Presley Binger and Patrick Maynard also participated in the competition. The team placed 5th overall. Our meats team placed 6th overall, Derek Johnson 16th, and Preston Wipf 20th overall. Braxton Jacobs and Tucker Bucholz also competed. Our Agronomy team placed 11th and consisted of Rylee Knock who placed 23rd, Jocelyn Wagner, Max Gilbert, and Aiden Frankenstein. Blaze Binger competed in Natural Resources. Our Nursery Landscape team placed 15th overall and the team consisted of Madison Watson, Danika Jacobs, Katelyn Schroeder, and Sienna Stoner. Lainee Humphrey and Cooper Cole competed in the Veterinary Science competition. The Farm Safety Quiz Bowl team consisted of Aiden Morehouse, Morgon Bottum, Cash Chaplin, and Tristan Nowell. Our Range Plant ID team consisted of Nick Tollefson, Jesse Woodward, Kaleb Watson, and Weston Wagner.
