The HT Patriots did not play well last Friday night. We did not come out ready to compete against Corsica-Stickney. We have great competitive athletes at Hitchcock-Tulare and great potential to do very well in our 2024 season, but until we prove that potential right on the field it is just talk.
#23 Blaze Binger has really stepped into his leadership role for the HT Patriots and has been leading our team by a positive example throughout the preseason. Blaze had 14 carries for 80 yards, 3 solo tackles, and 2 for a loss.
#40 Morgon Bottum really stepped in this game to earn a starting spot for our upcoming games. He had 5 solo tackles. Morgon will be starting at Linebacker and TE this upcoming week, great job.
#8 Payton Chasing Hawk is one of the best athletes in the state. Payton had 6 solo tackles (which isn’t good for our team when our safety is having to tackle that much, but it shows Payton’s effort.) We struggled on offense, but Payton is a great athlete and will hopefully allow his full potential to shine through this coming week.
#4 Patrick Maynard is one of our most competitive athletes. Patrick ended up catching 4 balls from Payton for 27 yards. Patrick is stepping into our Quarterback role this week.
#62 Mikael Nielson is leading our team well on and off the field. Mikael just earned Eagle Scout, we are excited for him. He is continuing to work hard on the field and will lead our offensive line and team to victory.
The rest of our line #56 Dalton Rathjen, #64 Aiden Morehouse, #55 Preston Wipf are expected to step up their game this coming Thursday. Our line is our foundation we are not going to be able to accomplish what we want without them.
I am confident this game was a fluke, and our true HT Patriots will shine through this coming Thursday August 29 in Iroquois at 7PM. We appreciate your support and ask for your continued support. We appreciate our communities, Wilbur-Ellis for painting our field, and our parents for caring for and feeding our athletes. Go State Champion Patriots!
