The HT Patriots Football Team 2 and 0 after their win on Friday night against the Northwestern Wildcats. The score was 52 to 8 at the end of four quarters of play. The Patriots came out with a strong defensive stance the entire game with the Wildcats racking up an estimated 23 yards of total offense. Many of our Patriots were around the ball and made big plays. Erik Salmen, TJ Salmen, and Jacob Michlitsch were the Patriots leading tacklers. Zach Gilbert, Landon Puffer, and Jack Boomsma all had batted passes with Jack Boomsma intercepting one of the passes after Landon Puffer tipped the ball. The HT Patriots offense had another strong performance before and after a few good players left the field with injuries. Carter Binger threw a 5 yard touchdown pass to Kyle Hamilton for the first score of the game. Jack Boomsma ran for 110 yards with 2 TD’s and 3 2Pt conversions. Erik Salmen ran for 82 yards total with one of the runs being a 45 yard TD and Kyle Hamilton had a 5 yard TD run as well. Jack Boomsma threw for another 143 yards with 1 TD pass of 56 yards to Landon Puffer. Kyle Hamilton and the Patriots kick return team scored with an 83 yard return for a TD. It was a well-rounded win by the HT Patriots already getting ready for our first home game in Hitchcock against Sunshine Bible Academy next Friday night, September 3 at 7PM, we appreciate your continued support.
