The Lady Patriots traveled to Aberdeen Christian to take on the the Knights, which only had one loss on the year. In the first set, the Patriots jumped out to a seven point lead, but eventually Aberdeen Christian would go on a big scoring run late in the set and put the Patriots away by a final set score of 20-25. In set 2, Christian controlled most of the set by building a huge lead. The Patriots would go on a scoring run late in the set to make it interesting, but eventually fell 20-25. The Patriots found themselves against the wall the rest of the night, but it didn't shake them as they kept battling the Knights. The Patriots would control most of set 3 and put the set away 25-19. The fourth set, was the same thing. The Patriots got out and build a 8 point lead and eventually put the set away 25-17 to take it to a deciding set 5 on the night. Set five was back and forth as you would expect. The Patriots jumped out to a 6-4 lead and Aberdeen Christian used their first time out. Out of the time out, the Knights went on a 3 point scoring run and Patriots used their time out as the game was knotted at 7. After the time out, the Knights went on another scoring run and found them up 10-8. The Patriots used their last time out and got the game tied at 13 all. A passing and hitting error would ultimately be the deciding factor in the 5th set and the Patriots dropped a heartbreaking set 5, 13-15, and move to 4-6 on the season.

 Leading the way for the Patriots was Katelyn Schroeder with 18 kills, Madison Hofer followed with 8 kills, and Bethany Wiebe chipped in with 4 kills. The Patriots did a nice job at the serving line, getting the Knights out of system a large chunk of the night. Schroeder led the serving going 19-20 with 2 aces. Danielle Nowell also went 10-11 with 2 aces. Shandi Chasing Hawk once again orchestrated the offense and came away with 29 assists. Defensively the Patriots came up with 76 digs on the night; led by Schroeder and Hofer with 19. Danielle Nowell chipped in 12 digs and Brooklyn Frankenstein had 10,  Schroeder also had some big blocks on the night; ending with 5 solo and 4 assists. 

The Patriots will be back in action tomorrow night (9/16) as they travel to rival Highmore to face the Pirates in a pivotal conference match.  Match time is set for 4:15 with the 7th grade game, followed by the 8th grade, JV and Varsity.
