Even though the Patriots played the Monarchs right down to the wire in set one, the Monarchs made quick work of the Patriots in sets two and three and swept the Patriots 3-0 in high school volleyball action on Tuesday night in Tulare. In set one, the Patriots played the monarchs point for point and the Patriots had an opportunity for the set point leading 24-23, but could not put set one away as the Monarchs finished set one off by winning 28-26. In set two and three, the Monarchs proved why they are one of top rated teams in the state as they won the second & third set relatively easy by a score of 25-10 and 25-8.
Leading the way for the Patriots was Katelyn Schroeder with 7 kills. Ella Johnson chipped in 3 kills. Schroeder recorded 3 aces as she went 10-10 at the serving line. Defensively Schroeder led the team with 12 digs and 1 solo block. Madison Hofer came up with 11 digs on the night. Shandi Chasing Hawk came up with 10 assists on the night.
The Patriots (9-12) will be right back in action tomorrow night (10-7) as they take on the Miller Rustlers in Tulare in the annual dig pink night. First serve, is set for 4:30 with the Jr. High game, followed by another Jr. High game at 5:15. JV is slated to start at 6:30 p.m, followed by the Varsity game. We hope to see everyone out tomorrow night for a fun filled evening.
