The Lady Patriots made the long trip out to Onida Friday night to take on the Sully Buttes Chargers. The visiting team escaped with a 3-2 thrilling win against the host team. 

In the first set, it was all the Chargers as the Patriots could not find their ball control and the errors mounted in the first set. The Chargers took the first set by a score of 25-17.

In set two, it was back an forth until the Patriots went on a serving run behind the serving of Katelyn Schroeder. The Patriots went on to win set two 25-19.

In set three, the set was back and forth and close through the whole set. The Patriots called their final time-out being down 21-24. The ladies could not finish the comeback and the Patriots fell in set three 25-23.

In set four, the Patriots came out early and sustained a three point lead most of the set. The Patriots would win set four with a score of 25-21 to set up a deciding set five. 

In set five, the Patriots jumped out to a quick four point lead and the home team used their first time out. The lead quickly diminished as Coach Opp called a time-out to regroup as it was a one point set. The Ladies would finish off the Chargers by winning set five 15-12 and taking the match 3-2.

Katelyn Schroeder had a big night for the Patriots as she recorded 25 kills, 34 digs, 3 aces, 2 solo, and 2 block assists. Bethany Wiebe kicked in 6 kills,  2 aces, an 1 block assist. Defensively, Brooklyn Frankenstein had 24 digs, Madison Hofer had 19 digs, and Danielle Nowell chipped in with 15 digs. 

The Patriots (11-14) will be back in action on Tuesday night to close out the regular season. They will be hosting a fellow 281 conference school, the Wessington Spring Spartans, in Tulare for the regular season finale and parents' nights. First serve will begin with a 7th grade game at 4:30 p.m followed by an 8th grade game. JV will be starting around 6:30 followed by the varsity match.
