The Patriots Fall To The Battlers
Thank you parents, families, and fans for all the support all year long. The Patriots football team especially thank Tracy Boomsma, Senior parents, and the rest of the Patriots families for the gifts, snacks and meals throughout the season. It is a wonderful encouragement to have that support. It was a season of adversity for sure, but the Patriots kept battling all year long. It was no different Thursday night against the Potter County Battlers. The Patriots came out swinging with an 80 yard kick-off return by Kyle Hamilton for a touchdown and Jack Boomsma finished it off with a two point conversion run. Our defense held strong for most of the game. It was only after a few key fumbles and offensive mishaps that gave the Battlers chances to score. Jed Waldner led our defense with 7 solo tackles, Landon Puffer with 6 solo, Jacob Michlitsch with 5 solo tackles, 2 for loss and 1 sack. Riley Fliehe got his first interception late in the game. Overall, the Patriots had a wonderful season. The Patriots competed against the three top 9B teams in the state of South Dakota losing by 6 against Potter County, 4 against Faulkton, and 2 against Avon during the regular season. The Patriots worked hard, grew as players and young men, and had a lot of fun doing it together. Again, thank you so much for the support and encouragement. Go Patriots!
