The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds visited Hitchcock on Thursday night and swept the Patriots in straight sets (17, 10, 13).
The first set the Patriots held around with the Warbirds and played with them. A run late in the game by the Warbirds and unforced errors in the set proved to be the difference in set 1.
Sets 2 and 3 were carbon copies of each other as the Patriots would make to many unforced errors in both sets and were unable to get anything really going.
Ella Johnson led the team with 6 kills, while Rebecca Huizenga added 5 kills. Gracyn Bixler and Presley Binger each tallied 4 assists.
Gracyn Bixler would add 2 aces. Cambree Hoekman paced the defense with 6 digs on the night.
The Patriots, 2-6, will be back in action on Saturday as they will participate in the Clark-Willow Lake tournament in Clark. The first match will begin at 9:00 a.m against Great Plains Lutheran, which is a rematch of earlier. They will then play Webster at 11:00 a.m and then get re-pooled after according to how the ladies finish.
