The Lady Patriots traveled to Woonsocket to take on the Blackhawks in a 281 Conference match.
Set 1, proved to be all Patriots as the ladies jumped out to a big lead behind some aggressive serving and hitting. The Patriots would not look back as they would win set one 25-17.
Set 2, proved to be a little closer as the Patriots would once again get a lead. The Blackhawks would crawl their way back into the set and make it tight. The Patriots took set two 25-20.
The Blackhawks were not going to go down without a fight. Set 3, SC/W jumped out to a lead. The Patriots kept chipping away, but the closest they could get was three and they Patriots dropped the set 25-22.
The Patriots decided to put the match away in the fourth set as the ladies jumped out to a lead and sustained it through out the set. The Blackhawks made it close at the end, but a monster kill by Rebecca Huizenga would put the set away 25-20, and the Patriots would win the match 3-1.
Leading the way for the Patriots was Katelyn Schroeder with 20 kills. Huizenga also recorded double digit kills with 10. Isabel Gilbert would chip in 8 kills and Lila and Ella Johnson both recorded 4 kills each. Gracyn Bixler and Presley Binger once again shared setting duties. Bixler would record 23 assists in the match and Binger followed with 12.
The Patriots as a team would record 9 aces. Schroeder would lead the way with 6. Ella and Lila Johnson and Cambree Hoekman would record 1 ace each.
Defensively, Hoekman recorded 27 digs in the match. Schroeder and Bixler also had double digit digs with 10 each. Binger was not to far behind with 9. Gilbert would also record a solo block and also an assist block with Lila Johnson.
The Patriots (12-15) will have a little break as they will open up the final week of regular season by hosting the Sully Buttes Chargers on Monday in Tulare for Parents Night. Game time is set with the JV starting at 6:30 p.m, followed by Varsity. There will be no JH Match. On Tuesday, the Patriots will travel to Wessington Springs for the season finale against the Spartans. The JH will begin at 5:15, followed by JV and Varsity.
