The Patriots traveled down to Wessington Springs to take on the Spartans. The Spartans got all they could handle from the Lady Patriots. 

In the first set, the two teams would almost play point for point until the Patriots found themselves two points down at the first timeout. The Spartans would continue the run and win the first set 25-21.

The Patriots would find themselves playing from behind most of the second set, until the Patriots would make a run at the end of the set and win 25-22.

In set three, the Patriots would jump out to a lead and sustain that through out the set. The Spartans would make a run at the end and serve the ball into the net to give the Patriots the set three win. 

The Spartans were not going to go down without a fight, as the Spartans controlled most of the fourth set, as the Patriots got out of sync with unforced errors.  Wessington Springs would win set four 25-16, to set up the deciding set.

Set five proved to be exciting as the Patriots would jump out to a five point lead. The Patriots could not maintain the lead, as the Spartans would come from behind and nip the Patriots 15-13 and win the set 3-2. 

The Patriots would accumulate 49 kills on the night, led by Katelyn Schroeder with 21 kills. Rebecca Huizenga added 10 kills. Isabel Gilbert and Ella Johnson each added 6 kills each. Lila Johnson also added 5 kills. Gracyn Bixler would tally 23 assists on the night, with Presley Binger also adding 9 assists. 

Schroeder tallied 2 aces in the contest and Cambree Hoekman tallied 1 ace. 

Defensively, the Patriots would tally 94 digs in the contest, lead by Schroeder with 26 and Hoekman with 22. Kaycee Stoner would also add 11 digs. 

Schroeder and Gilbert played big at the net as they tallied 5 solo blocks and 2 block assists. Ella Johnson and Bixler would also each add a block assist.

The Patriots (13-16) finished fourth in the 218 conference with a record of 4-3. They will be back in action on Tuesday night as they host Britton-Hecla in Tulare in Region 1B action.  Match time is set for 7:30 p.m.
