Patriots were unable to hold on to a 5 point lead with 2 minutes left in the game, losing to Warner Monarchs 50-47. A slow start offensively put the Patriots in a hole to start the game, down 12-6 after 1 quarter. But a 20-9 run in the 2nd quarter, gave the Patriots a 26-21 lead going into halftime. The game would then be tied after 3 quarters, 34-34 as neither team could create enough offense to pull away. Costly turnovers with under a minute to play in the 4th, would determine the outcome for the Patriots as they lose their 1st game of the season.
The Patriots were led by Carter Binger with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Riley Fliehe added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. TJ Salmen and Cole Schroeder each contributed 6 points. Mason Bottum and Landon Puffer both added 4 points each.
The Patriots will look to rebound against Wessington Springs in the 1st Round of the 281 Conference on Saturday.
